Initial Assessment

Each patient’s treatment begins with an initial assessment to discuss their history, carry out a full examination and create a personalised treatment plan.

The initial assessment is the first stage in planning each patient’s personalised rehabilitation plan. During this first appointment, I will assess your pet’s condition, strength, and function to create a plan to help them recover from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions that may affect their mobility and quality of life.

The assessment may include:

A detailed discussion about your pet’s history & lifestyle

Observation of posture, mobility & functional movement

Assessment of joint comfort and mobility

Assessment of soft tissues, including objective muscle measurements

Neurological assessment if applicable

Identification of areas of pain, stiffness or reduced mobility

Following the assessment, I will explain my findings and determine the most appropriate treatment plan.

I will send a detailed report to you and your vet following the initial assessment, outlining findings, treatment and recommendations. You will also receive a personalised home exercise plan.
